The Dual-Threat Dominance of the Dutch Powerhouse
Van Klinken’s rise to prominence is rooted in her elite NCAA career in the United States, where she excelled for both Arizona State and the University of Oregon. Transitioning seamlessly to the professional international stage, she has remained one of the exceptionally rare modern athletes capable of qualifying for world-class finals in two highly distinct throwing disciplines.
Her technical precision in the discus circle allows her to consistently challenge the formidable 70-meter barrier. Meanwhile, her explosive power in the shot put circle keeps her in tight contention with the world’s best spinners and gliders. This versatility makes her a highly anticipated draw for meeting directors and fans alike during the August 2026 outdoor tour.

Road to the 2027 World Championships and Beyond
The remainder of the 2026 season serves as a critical foundation for the 2027 World Athletics Championships in Beijing. Van Klinken's coaching staff has prioritized peak physical conditioning to prevent the physical burnout often associated with a demanding dual-event schedule.
With key technical adjustments implemented earlier this summer, her training trajectory suggests that her own Dutch national records are under serious threat. Analysts predict that if she maintains her current momentum, she will enter the next championship cycle not just as a dual finalist, but as a prime contender for global gold.
