From Braga Prospect to La Liga Enforcer
Samú Costa’s ascent in Spanish football has been marked by rapid adaptation and high-intensity performances. His ability to break up opposition plays, win crucial aerial duels, and immediately trigger counter-attacks transformed Mallorca’s central defensive block. Over recent campaigns, Costa has evolved from a raw, physical ball-winner into a composure-focused midfielder capable of dictating tempo under pressure.
This steady rise at the club level has also expanded his international profile. Strong performances in La Liga earned Costa recognition with the Portugal National Team, placing him in the conversation alongside Europe's top defensive midfield talents.

Transfer Interest and 2026–27 Campaign Expectations
As the August 2026 transfer window enters its final stretch, European clubs continue to monitor Costa’s situation closely. However, with Mallorca holding a firm stance backed by a long-term contract through 2028, any potential move would require a significant transfer fee.
The immediate objective for Costa this season is guiding Mallorca toward a stable top-half finish while cementing his place in Portugal's senior international squad. His durability and tactical intelligence make him a central figure in Mallorca's strategic plans.
With his physical peak approaching and his passing range expanding every season, the 2026–27 campaign shapes up to be a potential springboard for Samú Costa's career on the European stage.
