I can choose either fun, mostly useless classes or more rigorous slightly less fun but probably beneficial classes. I got a bs in biology and an almost perfect gpa. I know mds, dvms, phds, mss, as well as leaders in biotech who all had biology undergrad degrees. A biology degree can be good for pursuing graduate studies but most people don’t give a shit that you can name the parts of a bug. Weba basic science bs (which is typically the study of nature and animals, insects and such) does not give enough education on things that are important to other sciences.
Or if you’re having trouble starting a career, you can get a masters degree in a more specific area. Weba bio degree can be the basis for a lot of career choices. For example, i could take molecular evolution (fun) or general microbiology (difficult). I thought i was doing everything right. Webredditors who have a degree in biology, what is your career now? You might be able to enter a field with just a bio degree like i did. I thought i wanted to go into the medical field but the realities.
