I am getting a betta, couple red wag platies and and a couple albino corydoras. Are they good quality from petsmart or petco? In short, I like Petco better. First, PetSmart and other chains stores are there to sell and make money. They are not the ones to listen too. My petsmart is the place that didn't pay attention to community alerts and killed off their fish department with the city doing flush outs of the pipes and sanitization, then it was 2 months before they got new fish from their supply chain. Having been a Petsmart employee, I rarely purchased plants from them, with the exception of the ones in the to-go cups. My banana plant is going strong and has a nice red tint to the leaves. The gel the plants are in is the same substance we used as a water source for crickets. Do PetSmart fish really die as easily as they say? So far I've never had any fish from PetSmart that were in THAT BAD of conditions, never a fish that died fast in good conditions.
