The Shawnee, or Shawano, are a people native to North America. They originally inhabited the areas of Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. Today, the largest part of the Shawnee nation still resides in Oklahoma; another group live in Ohio. Funeral service set for elementary school teacher who passed away in 53rd St. car crash in Shawnee County Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday , at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home. Rev. Rickey Stidman will officiate. Visitation noon until the time of service.
