I've posted some of these before, but feeling nostalgic this afternoon and sharing for those who might not have seen them or who enjoy looking again. This is the Adirondack Railway in Upstate NY that … It was interesting and enjoyable in its own quirky nostalgic way, but overall the service was inferior. It got along, and did okay, but you really had to want a trip down Memory Lane to look the other way with rose-colored glasses not to see the many failings. In point of fact, Amtrak did "make the trains worth traveling again" in many ways. Railroads in Japan tend to repaint locomotives, EMUs, and DMUs into nostalgic colors when they anticipate their retirement.
